A much sought-after Citrus Apple Pie recipe from Mom:
BEST APPLE PIE KNOWN TO MAN
preheat oven to 400 degrees Farenheit

Ingredients:

6 cups +/- apples cut up; with skin on
(at least 3 Granny Smith apples preferred)
2 Deep dish Pie shells (Pillsbury or Mrs. Smith's preferred)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1 spoonful honey
2 Tablespoons Orange Juice
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice (or ReaLemon)
3/4 Cups Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoon Flour
1/8 tsp Salt
4 Tablespoons Real Butter
2 Oranges

*A well-seasoned iron skillet makes the best pie

ORANGE GLAZE
(To be mixed; spread over warm pie)
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 tsp Grated Orange Peel
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar

On the stove, on med-high, melt butter and juice and green apples 1st, then sugar, and red apples, adding cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and salt, respectively. The flour comes at the end

Stew together apples for about 15-20 +/- minutes, while baking 1st crust in bottom of iron skillet in oven, til browned (don't forget always to pucture several holes in pie shell before baking)

Put stewed apple mixture into baked bottom crust; cover with raw top crust, puncture several holes, bake for 10-15 minutes at about 400 degrees, Farenheit, watching to prevent burning.

As pie cools, when finished, spread glaze; ENJOY!
